Gwen Stacy, a spider-powered hero, reunites with Miles Morales as he battles The Spot, a villain whose interdimensional powers threaten the multiverse. Miles joins the Spider-Society but rejects Miguel O'Hara's dogma of "canon events" and the necessity of his father's death, leading him to escape into an alternate universe. Miles accidentally arrives on Earth-42, a dimension where he was never Spider-Man and his Uncle Aaron is alive, while Gwen is sent back to her home dimension. Gwen reconciles with her father and assembles a team of allies to find Miles and help him return to his dimension to save his father.
