UN SINGE EN HIVER script

During the German occupation of France, Albert Quentin promises his wife Suzanne he will stop drinking if they survive the war, later becoming an abstinent hotelier. Years later, Albert meets the alcoholic former matador Gabriel Fouquet, who is searching for his daughter Marie, and Albert is drawn to Gabriel's free spirit, reminiscing about his own wild youth. Despite Suzanne's disapproval, Albert becomes entangled in Gabriel's antics, culminating in a drunken spree and a chaotic fireworks display that lands them in a blockhouse. The next morning, Gabriel reunites with Marie, and Albert, having rediscovered a part of himself, decides to leave Tigreville with them, telling Marie a story about monkeys in winter as their train departs.

Yo soy unico !

Gabriel Fouquet / Scene 24

I do not share this gentleman's opinion about England. But, most important, first we must ascertain whether this gentleman is really the father of our little Marie Fouquet. For the moment, gentlemen, it will be best for you to go. We can attend everything to-morrow morning.

Madame Victoria / Scene 55

Ah !...

Albert Quentin / Scene 27
