Alan Tracy, the youngest son of International Rescue founder Jeff Tracy, dreams of becoming a Thunderbird pilot, but his father believes he is not yet ready. While the adult Thunderbirds are on a rescue mission in space, the villainous Hood, a former associate of Jeff with telekinetic powers, attacks Tracy Island and traps the Tracy brothers and Brains aboard Thunderbird 5. Alan, along with his best friend Fermat Hackenbacker and Tintin, the daughter of the family's housekeeper, evade capture and discover the Hood's plan to use the Thunderbirds' technology to rob the Bank of London. The children manage to contact Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward and Parker, who arrive on Tracy Island to help them fight off the Hood's henchmen and restore communications with Thunderbird 5.
