James Howlett's peaceful life with Kayla Silverfox is shattered when his brother, Victor Creed, seemingly murders her, leading James to undergo an adamantium bonding procedure for revenge. Now Logan, he hunts Creed, only to discover Kayla is alive and working with Colonel William Stryker, having been forced to betray Logan to protect her captive sister. Logan and Creed unite to confront Stryker and his Weapon Eleven, a powerful mutant, in a battle where Kayla sacrifices herself to save Logan. Logan defeats Weapon Eleven and escapes the collapsing facility, but an adamantium bullet to the head from Stryker causes amnesia, leaving him to wander the world as Wolverine with no memory of his past.
