WALKING TALL script

Chris Vaughn, a former soldier, returns to his hometown to find it economically depressed and corrupted by the Wild Cherry Casino, owned by Jay Hamilton, and overseen by the complicit Sheriff Stan Watkins. After Chris discovers the casino uses loaded dice and confronts the staff, he is brutally beaten, and Sheriff Watkins refuses to press charges against Hamilton, citing the casino's economic importance. The corruption hits home when Chris's nephew, Pete, overdoses on drugs linked to the casino, prompting Chris to run for sheriff himself. Winning the election, Sheriff Vaughn begins to dismantle Hamilton's criminal enterprise, leading to escalating confrontations, including gunmen attacking his family home. Chris ultimately confronts and defeats Jay Hamilton at the mill, then, with the help of his friend Ray, shuts down the Wild Cherry Casino, restoring order and justice to the town.
