Wag the Dog script

When a presidential sex scandal threatens to derail his re-election, political operative Ronnie Brean and spin doctor Stanley Moss fabricate a fake war with Albania to distract the public. They create elaborate media hoaxes, including a staged rescue of an Albanian girl, to generate public support and shift focus from the President's misconduct. As the fake war gains traction, Brean and Moss introduce a supposed war hero, William Schumann, to further boost the President's image. However, Schumann turns out to be a deranged convict who commits a murder, forcing Brean and Moss to orchestrate his death and frame it as a heroic sacrifice for the President's re-election campaign. Ultimately, their elaborate deception succeeds, and the President is re-elected, while Brean and Moss continue to manipulate public perception, ensuring their fabricated narrative becomes the accepted truth.
