Best friends Tucker and Dale are mistaken for murderous hillbillies by college students while vacationing at their new cabin, leading to a series of accidental deaths. After rescuing Allison, the students believe she's kidnapped, escalating the misunderstanding as deranged college student Chad, whose family was killed by hillbillies, leads the charge against them. A final confrontation at a lumber mill reveals Chad's true lineage as the son of a serial killer, and he is ultimately defeated.
