A group of pampered actors, including action star Chris Michael Speedman, method actor Kirk Lazarus, and gross-out comedian Jeff Portnoy, are filming a Vietnam War movie when their frustrated director, Damien Dorfman, drops them into the jungle to capture a more realistic performance. Unbeknownst to the actors, they are abandoned in a real war zone and stumble into the territory of the Flaming Dragon, a ruthless drug cartel led by a 12-year-old boy named Tran. The actors, initially believing the escalating violence and Damien's death are part of the film, soon realize the grave danger when Speedman is captured and forced to perform for Tran. The remaining actors, along with their agent Rick Peck and pyrotechnics expert Cody, mount a chaotic rescue mission, culminating in a fiery escape from the Flaming Dragon compound. The ordeal transforms the actors, and their harrowing experience is ultimately turned into a successful film, earning Speedman an Academy Award, while Rick Peck remains a captive of Tran.
