TIN CUP script

Roy “Tin Cup” McAvoy, a talented but self-destructive golf pro, runs a driving range in West Texas with his best friend and caddie, Romeo Posar, often gambling with regulars. Tin Cup meets psychologist Molly Griswold, who seeks golf lessons, and he falls for her, despite her relationship with his nemesis, the successful tour pro David Simms. After losing his driving range to Doreen in a bet, Tin Cup decides to enter the U.S. Open, pawning his clubs to fund his entry. Tin Cup struggles with the “shanks” and a hangover during the Open, but Molly helps him regain his focus, and he makes a remarkable comeback, catching the attention of commentators and fans. In the final round, Tin Cup, known for his risky play, attempts an impossible shot over water multiple times, ultimately sinking the ball on his twelfth stroke, losing the tournament but winning Molly's heart and the respect of the golf world.
