THE THING script

An American research team in Antarctica discovers a shape-shifting alien that assimilates other life forms, leading to paranoia and distrust among the isolated crew. After the creature begins to assimilate team members, a blood test is devised to identify the alien, revealing one of their own as the monster before it is destroyed. The remaining survivors realize another assimilated member has been building a spaceship, prompting them to decide to destroy the entire outpost to contain the threat. In the burning ruins, the last two survivors, MacReady and Childs, sit together, uncertain if either of them is still human.
