The Passion of Joan of Arc script

Joan of Arc, a devout country girl, is imprisoned and subjected to a relentless trial for heresy by Bishop Cauchon and a panel of judges. Despite her unwavering faith, Joan is tormented by soldiers, interrogated in a torture chamber, and manipulated by the prelate Loiseleur, who feigns friendship to extract a confession. Overwhelmed and exhausted, Joan publicly abjures her beliefs and signs a confession to avoid execution, leading to a sentence of perpetual imprisonment. However, consumed by remorse, Joan retracts her confession, reaffirming her faith, and is subsequently burned at the stake as a martyr.
