In 1997, retired Mossad agent Rachel Singer, celebrated for her 1965 mission to capture Nazi war criminal Dieter Vogel, investigates her former teammate David Peretz's suicide, which uncovers the mission's true, deceptive events. Flashbacks reveal that young Rachel, David, and Stephan Gold abducted Vogel, but he escaped their safe house after taunting David, leading Rachel to shoot and kill him, though Stephan convinced them to lie about his death. In the present, Rachel discovers the man they killed was not Vogel, who is alive in a Ukrainian hospital, prompting her to travel there and confront the elderly Nazi.
