THE CROODS script

The Croods, a prehistoric family, are forced from their cave by a continental shift and encounter Guy, an inventive boy whose progressive ideas challenge the overprotective patriarch, Grug. As they journey toward a promised land called Tomorrow, Grug struggles to adapt to Guy's innovations, creating friction with his adventurous daughter, Eep, while the family faces numerous dangers. In a desperate attempt to save his family from a collapsing world, Grug sacrifices himself by throwing them across a chasm to safety, believing he will be left behind. However, Grug uses his own ingenuity to create a flying contraption and reunites with his family in the vibrant new world of Tomorrow, where they embrace exploration and innovation.

But when no one was looking, she would go near the cliff, for the closer she came to the edge, the more she could hear, the more she could see, the more she could feel. Finally, she stood at the very edge, and she saw a light. She leaned out to touch it, and slipped.

Guy / Scene 14

Once upon a time there was a little tiger who lived in a cave with her family. There were a lot of rules, but the big, simple one was to never leave the cave at night. And the door was so heavy, you'd think it would be easy to remember.

Grug / Scene 14

You know, we lost him. But when the bird stepped on me and pushed me into the ground, the scorpion grabbed a hold of me and one thing led to another and here we are eating him. Win win.

Thunk / Scene 12

We have to go back to the cave. Hurry, hurry, stay together. Let's keep moving. Move, move! Everybody hold my hand. Thunk let's go. Go! Let's stay together.

Ugga / Scene 28

This is me. My name's Eep. And this, is my family. The Croods. If you weren't clued in by the sun tans and pets, we're not exactly cavemen anymore.

Eep / Scene 34

Ow! Jumping doesn't help, I mean, just briefly, but it doesn't get better! Ow! Do not walk on your hands, the hands do not help at all.

Thunk / Scene 15

I was little when it happened. The last thing my parents told me was, "Don't hide. Live. Follow the Sun. You'll make it to Tomorrow."

Guy / Scene 24

What? No I'm not. Don't make me part of this. Stay here if you want, but let me go. I've got a dream, a mission, a reason to live.

Guy / Scene 10
