1997
Irish Catholic brothers Connor and Murphy MacManus become vigilantes after killing two Russian mobsters, believing it to be a divine calling to rid Boston of evil. F.B.I. Agent Paul Smecker investigates their escalating series of murders, initially baffled by the seemingly random yet meticulously executed killings of various criminal figures. The brothers, joined by their friend David Della Rocco, are eventually captured by the mob, leading to Rocco's brutal murder by crime boss Poppa Joe Yakavetta. In a climactic courtroom showdown, the MacManus brothers, along with their long-imprisoned father Noah, execute Yakavetta and his associates, declaring their mission to eradicate evil from the world.
