Seventeen-year-old best friends Seth and Evan, along with their awkward friend Fogell, desperately try to buy alcohol for a party hosted by Seth's crush, Jules, hoping to lose their virginity before graduating high school. Fogell, using a fake ID with the name McLovin, attempts to purchase liquor but is robbed, leading to a chaotic encounter with two incompetent police officers, Slater and Michaels, who surprisingly befriend him. Meanwhile, Seth and Evan navigate the party, facing humiliation and near-arrests while trying to impress Jules and Evan's crush, Helen. After a night of drunken mishaps, including Seth head-butting Jules and Helen vomiting on Evan, the boys escape the party as the police raid it, with Fogell being caught but then released by the officers who were just pranking him.
