2002
Senator Padmé Amidala survives an assassination attempt, prompting Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to protect her while investigating the attack. Obi-Wan discovers a secret clone army on Kamino and uncovers a Separatist plot led by Count Dooku on Geonosis, while Anakin and Padmé fall in love and he tragically loses his mother. The trio is captured on Geonosis but saved by the clone army, initiating the Clone Wars, during which Dooku reveals a Sith Lord controls the Senate before escaping after a duel with Yoda. As the galaxy descends into war, Anakin and Padmé secretly marry, while Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, secretly Darth Sidious, gains emergency powers and deploys the clone army he orchestrated.
