Star Trek: The Motion Picture script

Admiral Kirk is recalled to command the USS Enterprise to intercept a powerful, mysterious luminescent cloud that has destroyed several vessels and is on a collision course with Earth. The Enterprise is drawn into the entity, revealed to be an ancient Earth probe named V'ger, which has achieved sentience and been enhanced by an alien machine race, now seeking its Creator. V'ger, unable to comprehend organic life, demands to merge with its Creator, threatening Earth's destruction if its demand is not met. Commander Decker merges with V'ger and its Ilia-probe emissary, transforming into a new life form that transcends into another dimension, thereby saving Earth.
