Lounge singer Christy Van Cartier enters witness protection as Sister Mary Clarence at Saint Katherine's Convent after witnessing her mob boss boyfriend, Vince LaRocca, commit murder. Despite initial clashes, Christy revitalizes the convent choir with soulful gospel performances, attracting new parishioners but also Vince's attention when he sees her on television. Vince kidnaps Christy, prompting Lieutenant Eddie Mulcahy and the nuns, now aware of her true identity, to travel to Las Vegas to rescue her.
