1985
In the small town of Tarker's Mills, a series of brutal murders begins with railroad worker Arnie Westrum, followed by Stella Randolph, Milt Sturmfuller, and Marty Coslaw's friend, Brady Kincaid, leading the town to believe a werewolf is responsible. After a vigilante group is slaughtered while hunting the creature, eleven-year-old Marty, who uses a wheelchair, has a close encounter with the werewolf while setting off fireworks and realizes the beast has lost an eye. Marty and his older sister, Jane, deduce that the werewolf is Father Lester Lowe, the local priest, after Jane discovers his injured eye. Marty and Jane try to convince their Uncle Al of Father Lowe's true identity, but their parents remain skeptical.
