1949
Escaped convicts Lednov, Peters, and McCall murder the Forster family and steal their belongings, prompting a town-wide alert in Aspen. Brothers Clay and Steve Phillips discover the abandoned surrey of four women, Mary Wells, Helen Carter, Elaine Ross, and Marcia Paine, and agree to transport them to the nearest ranch. During their journey, Elaine, daughter of the Wyatts, goes missing and is found by Steve, who encounters Lednov's gang, while Jim Clayton searches for Marcia.
