In a medieval village terrorized by a werewolf, Isabelle is torn between her love for Peter and an arranged marriage to Henri, a conflict intensified by her sister's death and the arrival of a werewolf hunter. False accusations imprison Isabelle and her deaf friend Claude, while the taunting werewolf reveals itself to be Isabelle's father, Cesaire, who also murdered her grandmother. Isabelle and Peter, after Peter is bitten, kill Cesaire and dispose of his body in the river, concealing the truth to protect the village. Years later, Isabelle is married to Henri with children, but she remains vigilant, aware that Peter, now a werewolf, lives in the forest, protecting the village from afar.
