1987
Recidivist H.I. McDunnough marries police officer Edwinna, and after discovering her infertility, they kidnap one of the Arizona quintuplets, Nathan Junior. Their new life is complicated by Hi's escaped convict friends, Gale and Evelle, and the relentless pursuit of bounty hunter Leonard Smalls, leading to Hi's chaotic attempt to rob a convenience store for diapers. After retrieving Nathan Junior from Gale and Evelle, who had taken him from Hi's blackmailing former foreman, Glen, Hi defeats Leonard Smalls with a hand grenade and returns the baby to his parents. Hi dreams of a future where his friends and enemies receive their just deserts, and he lives a long life surrounded by his own descendants.
