PET SEMATARY script

The Creed family moves to rural Maine, discovering a pet cemetery and an ancient Micmac burial ground with resurrection powers behind their new home. After their cat Church is resurrected with a malevolent change, tragedy strikes when their son Gage is killed, leading a grief-stricken Louis to bury him in the Micmac ground despite dire warnings. Gage returns as a monstrous, possessed child who murders Jud and Rachel, forcing Louis to kill his reanimated son. Driven mad by grief and the burial ground's influence, Louis buries Rachel in the Micmac ground, only for her to return as a malevolent, undead entity.

What you buy is what you own, and sooner or later what you own comes home to you. Wasn't that what you said, Jud? Wasn't that pretty much it?

It's not the real cemetery... The soil of a man's heart is stonier, Louis...a man grows what he can...and tends it.

Victor Pascow / Scene 14

Thank God. I was a little worried there. Have a great first day at school, doc. No broken bones.

Rachel Creed / Scene 12

Hello, Louis--it's Irwin. I just wanted to be sure Rachel got back all right.

Irwin Goldman / Scene 38

Why, saved a little girl from being unhappy...that's all. Drink up, Louis!

Jud Crandall / Scene 15

Why...that sometimes dead is better. That's all. Sometimes dead is better.

I'll tell you where the ground is sour--the ground in my heart is sour.
