Julian, an American drug smuggler in Bangkok, faces pressure from his mother, Jenna, to avenge his brother Billy's death after Billy is killed by a vigilante ex-cop named Chang for murdering a prostitute. Despite Julian's reluctance and moral conflict, his protege Liang kills the victim's father, and Jenna hires hitmen who are easily dispatched by Chang. Julian challenges Chang to a boxing match, which he loses, and is then further beaten and questioned by Chang about his inner darkness before being released to his girlfriend, Mai. The film concludes with Chang reuniting with his daughter, Julian recovering in the hospital with Mai, and Jenna being strip-searched at the airport, implying an ongoing cycle of violence and judgment.
