Derek and Beth Charles move into their new home, where Derek's temp, Lisa Sheridan, develops a dangerous obsession with him, making unwanted advances and sending harassing messages. Lisa's fixation escalates as she stages an overdose to manipulate Derek and later kidnaps his son, Kyle, causing severe marital strain and fear within the Charles family. Beth installs a security system, but Lisa breaks in again, leading to a violent confrontation where Beth fights back, causing Lisa to fall to her death from the second story.
