1990
Manipulated by his psychiatrist, Dr. Decker, into believing he is a serial killer, Aaron Boone discovers Midian, a hidden city of monsters, and is resurrected as one of them after being shot. Boone's girlfriend, Lori, follows him to Midian, learning about the Nightbreed as Decker continues his murderous spree and frames Boone, inciting a bigoted posse to attack the monster city. As Midian collapses during the violent confrontation, Boone, now named Cabal, defeats Decker and is named the new leader of the Nightbreed by their deity, Baphomet. Cabal and Lori escape with the surviving Nightbreed to a new refuge, looking towards a future where they will rebuild their society under Cabal's leadership.
