John Creasy, a former soldier and alcoholic, becomes a bodyguard for nine-year-old Pinta Ramos in Mexico City, forming a deep bond with her before she is kidnapped and he is severely wounded. Believing Pinta dead after a botched ransom exchange, Creasy embarks on a violent quest for vengeance, uncovering a conspiracy that reveals Pinta's father orchestrated the kidnapping. Creasy tracks down the mastermind, Daniel Rosas Sanchez, and negotiates his own life for Pinta's safe return. Creasy delivers Pinta back to her mother before succumbing to his wounds, while the AFI Director raids Daniel's compound and kills him, bringing the case to a close.
