Betrayed by his corrupt boss and a druglord, former Federale Machete's family is murdered, leading him years later to be framed in an assassination plot against an anti-immigration senator. Wounded and on the run, Machete enlists the help of taco truck owner Luz, her immigrant network, and his priest stepbrother, Padre, to expose the conspiracy. Machete forces Homeland Security agent Elektra Rivers to aid him in revealing the plot involving the senator, his former boss, and a xenophobic militia. Machete and his allies assault the militia's armory, defeating his enemies and exposing their corruption, after which he continues his vigilante work protecting immigrants.
