In 2029, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Charles Xavier and reluctantly agrees to transport Laura, a young mutant girl with similar powers, to a safe haven called Eden. They are pursued by cyborg bounty hunter Donald Pierce and Dr. Zander Rice, who created Laura and other mutant children, leading to Charles's tragic death at the hands of X-24, a feral clone of Logan. Logan and Laura eventually reach Eden, a sanctuary for mutant children, but their peace is shattered when Pierce and the Reavers track them down. In a final, desperate battle, Logan sacrifices himself to defeat X-24 and protect Laura, who then buries him before leading the remaining mutant children to safety.
