Flight attendant Jackie Brown is caught smuggling money for arms dealer Ordell Robbie and, after being bailed out, Ordell threatens her life. Jackie devises an elaborate scheme to double-cross Ordell and the police, enlisting bondsman Max Cherry to help swap bags of money during a transfer. During the exchange, Ordell's associate Melanie is killed by Louis, and Ordell, believing Jackie stole the money, is then killed by Detective Dargus in a trap set by Max. With Ordell dead and the police satisfied, Jackie takes the half-million dollars and prepares to leave the country, sharing a final moment with Max.
