Three friends, Nick, Dale, and Kurt, miserable under their respective bosses, decide to hire a hitman but are instead advised by an ex-con to kill each other's bosses. Their clumsy attempts at surveillance and breaking in lead to complications, culminating in Nick witnessing Dave Harken, his boss, murder Bobby Pellit, Kurt's boss, and frame them for the crime. The friends attempt to ambush Harken for a confession, but their plan goes awry, leading to a car chase where Harken is ultimately apprehended. In the resolution, Harken is arrested, Julia is forced into therapy, and Kurt becomes CEO of Pellit Chemical, continuing his inappropriate behavior.
