HARD RAIN script

Amid a catastrophic flood, armored car driver Tom escapes with stolen money after his partner is killed by Jim's crew, only to be jailed and then freed by the rising waters and a local woman named Karen. Tom and Karen navigate the submerged town, evading both Jim's relentless pursuit of the money and the corrupt Sheriff also seeking the cash. A climactic shootout in a crypt, where the money was hidden but is now gone, escalates into a fiery confrontation at a church where Karen kills a corrupt deputy and Jim sacrifices himself to save Tom and Karen from the Sheriff. Having survived the ordeal, Tom and Karen begin to rebuild the damaged church together.

Dialogue examples

Well, hell, then I guess I better take it after all. I figure the river'll carry me down to the Gulf of Mexico. If I catch the right currents, maybe I'll end up in... Belize? You come look me up. I'll buy you a drink.

Jim / Scene 56

When we get down here a little further we'll find a place for you to hide. I'm gonna get back to the truck and wait for the National Guard. They should be there pretty soon.

Tom / Scene 34

This happened in a flood in Georgia. The ground gets soggy, and the caskets are air-tight -- anyone who hasn't been planted too long just pops up.

Mr. Mehlor / Scene 44

Look, I've spent the last eight months of my life restoring that church, and I just left it to come save your ass, so spare me, okay?

Karen / Scene 34

So when I say get down here, it's not a request, it's an order. So get down here! Now! I won't need you for long. And bring your gun.

Sheriff Mike / Scene 48

Well, isn't that just wonderful! Now these bastards are gonna want to kill us, too! Why the hell did you have to come to this house?

Doreen Swerzky / Scene 41

I, uh... I sold construction machinery. I was making good money, it just... I don't know. It just didn't seem right for me anymore.

Tom / Scene 36

No. The scariest thing that ever happened before was Charlie running out of donuts. I've only been doing this for a couple months.
