Hanna, a super-soldier raised and trained as an assassin by her former CIA operative father, Erik, activates a beacon to lure out Marissa Wiegler, the agent who murdered her mother. After escaping a CIA black site and befriending a British family, Hanna learns her true origin as part of a super-soldier program and that Erik is not her biological father. Hanna and Erik reunite in Berlin, where he sacrifices himself to allow her to escape Marissa's pursuit, leaving Hanna devastated. Hanna confronts Marissa at the abandoned facility where she was created, kills her to avenge Erik, and then returns to live peacefully in the wilderness.
