1992
Cynical weatherman Phil Connors finds himself trapped in a time loop, reliving Groundhog Day repeatedly in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. After initial hedonism and failed attempts to woo his producer Rita, Phil descends into nihilism and multiple suicide attempts, all of which are reset by the loop. Realizing he cannot escape, Phil dedicates himself to self-improvement and acts of kindness, transforming into a beloved figure in the town. His newfound compassion finally wins Rita's affection, breaking the loop and allowing them to wake up together on February 3rd.
