1989
Grifter Lilly Dillon, with an incestuous attachment to her son Roy, becomes jealous when his girlfriend Myra visits him in the hospital after a botched con. Myra, attempting to partner with Roy, is rejected and beaten by him, leading her to inform mob boss Bobo about Lilly's hidden money, forcing Lilly to flee. Lilly, anticipating an attack, kills Myra in self-defense at a motel, leaving Roy to identify the body and realize his mother is a murderer. Returning to Roy's apartment for her money, Lilly engages in a final, fatal confrontation, killing her son and solidifying her descent into a life of crime and violence.
