FIGHT CLUB script

An insomniac office worker named Jack, suffering from chronic insomnia and a detached existence, finds solace in attending support groups for various illnesses. Jack's life takes an unexpected turn when he meets the charismatic and nihilistic soap salesman Tyler Durden on a plane, and after Jack's condo explodes, he moves into Tyler's dilapidated house. Together, they establish Fight Club, a secret society where men engage in bare-knuckle fighting, which quickly evolves into Project Mayhem, an anti-consumerist organization that carries out acts of vandalism and destruction. As Project Mayhem escalates, Jack discovers that Tyler Durden is his alter ego, a manifestation of his dissociative identity disorder, and that he has been unknowingly participating in and orchestrating the project's destructive activities.

Dialogue examples

I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who have ever lived -- an entire generation pumping gas and waiting tables; or they're slaves with white collars. Advertisements have them chasing cars and clothes, working jobs they hate so they can buy shit they don't need. We are the middle children of history, with no purpose or place. We have no great war, or great depression. The great war is a spiritual war. The great depression is our lives. We were raised by television to believe that we'd be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars -- but we won't. And we're learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed-off.

Tyler Durden / Scene 61

Me? I'd be very careful who I talked to about this. It sounds like someone dangerous wrote it... someone who might snap at any moment, stalking from office to office with an Armalite AR-10 Carbine-gas semiautomatic, bitterly pumping round after round into colleagues and co-workers.

Jack / Scene 52

Who am I?! There's a sign on the front that says "Lou's Tavern." I'm fucking Lou. Who the fuck are you?!

Lou / Scene 61

I'm going to need you out-of-town a little more this week. We've got some "red-flags" to cover.

Boss / Scene 5

This is Detective Stern of the arson unit. I'd like to see you in my office tomorrow morning...

Detective Stern / Scene 86

Don't deal with this the way those dead people do. Deal with it the way a living person does.

Tyler Durden / Scene 50

An expired community college student ID card. What did you used to study, Raymond K. Hessel?

Tyler Durden / Scene 63

Tyler Durden! Tyler Durden, you fucking freak. What's going on? I'm coming over there...

Marla Singer / Scene 87
