Fantastic Mr. Fox script

Mr. Fox, a former thief, promises his pregnant wife he will abandon his wild ways, but two years later, he secretly conspires to steal from three notoriously cruel farmers. The farmers retaliate by destroying Mr. Fox's home and forcing all the underground animals into a sewer system, where they face starvation. Feeling responsible, Mr. Fox leads the animals on a series of raids on the farmers' food stores, escalating the conflict until Bean kidnaps Mr. Fox's nephew, Kristofferson. Mr. Fox, Ash, and Kylie infiltrate Bean's compound to rescue Kristofferson, and after a tense confrontation, the animals escape to a new home in an abandoned supermarket where they can live safely and steal food.

Dialogue examples

Wild animals with true natures and pure talents. Wild animals with scientific-sounding Latin names that mean something about our D.N.A. Wild animals each with his own strengths and weaknesses due to his or her species, and also -- well, I guess these things usually have a lot to do with the parents, as we all know. Anyway, I think it may very well be all the beautiful differences among us that just might give us the tiniest glimmer of a chance of saving my nephew and letting me make it up to you for getting us into this crazy whatever-it-is. I don't know. It's just a thought. Thank you for listening. Cheers, everyone.

Mr. Fox / Scene 22

First, you need to get a running start, which, obviously, I can't do in here, then, as you arrive at the destination of the chop -- lean and thrust into the point of contact, paw remains open and straight, then withdraw instantaneously. Remember, it's the pull-back that matters. The pull-BACK -- generates the force of the impact.

Kristofferson / Scene 33

Your cousin Kristofferson's coming first thing tomorrow morning. I want you to be extra nice to him, because he's going through a very hard time right now, OK?

Mrs. Fox / Scene 4

To protect their identities. Oh, right, but then why'd they sign their names? Plus, we already knew who they were because they're trying to kill us.

Kylie / Scene 20

I should probably ride with you and Kylie since it's my fault Kristofferson got captured stealing those nutmeg-ginger-apple snaps.

Ash / Scene 26

I try. I guess now that Kristofferson's dad's already down to single-pneumonia and getting better, he'll be going home soon, huh?

Mr. Fox / Scene 38

I didn't understand a word of that sentence, but none of it matters, anyway, because it's too dangerous for you to come with us.

Mr. Fox / Scene 26

I don't think he speaks English or Latin. Pensez-vous que 1'hiver sera rude? I'm asking if he thinks we're in for a hard winter.

Mr. Fox / Scene 37
