Grieving FBI Agent Jon Archer, after apprehending terrorist Castor Troy, undergoes an experimental face-swap surgery to infiltrate Troy's prison and extract bomb information. However, Troy awakens, assumes Archer's identity, disarms the bomb, and ingratiates himself with Archer's family and colleagues, leaving Archer trapped in prison with Troy's face. Archer escapes, seeks help from Troy's criminal associates, and discovers he has a son with Troy's former lover, Sasha, leading to a violent struggle for identity between the two men. The conflict culminates in a deadly shootout where Archer kills Troy, reclaims his original face, and returns home with Sasha's son, Adam, as a new member of his family.
