Escape From New York script

In a dystopian 1997, former Special Forces soldier Snake Plissken is tasked with rescuing the President from Manhattan Island, now a maximum-security prison, after Air Force One crashes there. Police Commissioner Bob Hauk injects Snake with micro-explosives, threatening detonation if he fails to retrieve the President and a vital cassette tape within 24 hours. Snake infiltrates the prison, locates the President with the help of an old associate, and after a violent confrontation and chaotic escape where his allies are killed, he delivers the President and the tape. However, Snake reveals he swapped the real tape, which contained crucial information for a global peace summit, for a fake, destroying the only hope for peace.
