1996
A French crew, led by Daniel, botches a Parisian heist and is sent to Chicago for a new job, where they mistakenly rob a mob underboss's home, drawing the attention of both the mob and a corrupt FBI agent. After an informant is killed by the corrupt agent and a crew member dies in a car chase, Sami uses incriminating recordings to negotiate with the agent and mob boss, while Daniel plans their escape. Sami tricks the corrupt agent into exposing himself, leading to his death by the underboss, who then dies in a car accident during a gang shootout. Daniel's crew extorts their boss, who is killed by a bomb, and they discover a valuable Van Gogh painting, which they accidentally lose in a river and jump in after.
