Hitman Chev Chelios awakens to discover he has been poisoned by rival Ricky Verona and must maintain high adrenaline levels to prevent his heart from stopping. He embarks on a frantic rampage across Los Angeles, stealing cars, robbing a store for stimulants, and confronting crime boss Carlito while reconnecting with his girlfriend, Eve, and confessing his profession. After an associate is killed, Chev and Eve engage in a shootout, and Chev, with a failing leg, nails it to a skateboard to continue his pursuit. Chev tracks Carlito and Verona to a hotel, where a final confrontation leads to Chev and Verona falling from a helicopter to their deaths.
