1993
Haunted by a failed rescue that killed his friend's girlfriend, expert climber Gabe Walker struggles with guilt and his relationship with his best friend, Hal Tucker. A ruthless mercenary, Eric Qualen, and corrupt Treasury agent, Richard Travers, hijack a Treasury plane carrying millions in cash, crashing it in the Rocky Mountains. Gabe and Hal, responding to a distress call, are ambushed by Qualen's team and forced to help them recover the scattered money cases from the treacherous mountain terrain. As Gabe evades the mercenaries, he works to rescue Hal and Maggie, a helicopter pilot and his former partner, who are also caught in the deadly pursuit. In a final confrontation, Gabe battles Qualen on a cable ladder suspended over a chasm, ultimately defeating the mercenary and securing the remaining money, finally reconciling with Hal and Maggie.
