1998
Chuck Noland, a driven FedEx systems engineer, travels the world ensuring efficient package delivery, but his demanding schedule strains his relationship with his girlfriend, Kelly Frears. During a flight over the Pacific, Chuck's plane crashes, leaving him the sole survivor stranded on a deserted island. Over four years, Chuck learns to survive by making fire, fishing, and extracting his own tooth, while his only companion becomes a volleyball he names Wilson. After a failed escape attempt, Chuck builds a new raft and sets sail, enduring storms, thirst, and the loss of Wilson before being rescued by a passing ship.
