Batman script

In Gotham City, a masked vigilante known as Batman fights crime, capturing two punks and establishing his presence. Meanwhile, gangster Jack Napier, involved in a corrupt scheme with Lieutenant Eckhardt, falls into a vat of toxic chemicals during a police raid, transforming him into the disfigured, psychopathic criminal mastermind known as the Joker. The Joker, seeking revenge on his former boss Carl Grissom, kills him and takes control of Gotham's underworld, while Batman, secretly Bruce Wayne, begins a romance with photojournalist Vicki Vale. The Joker unleashes a reign of terror, poisoning Gotham's products and attacking the Fluegelheim Museum where he confronts Vicki, leading to a high-speed chase with Batman in the Batmobile.

Dialogue examples

I guess I'm just an old cornball, but... I live for beauty. I look around at my little city, it gets me down. We don't have anything like this. Well, it came to me that what this city needs... is beautification. Kind of a big makeover. Miss Vale, I finally realized that one man can make a difference. You know the saying. "In his image... created he them"?

Jack Napier / Scene 38

All this apparatus, Vicki... this house, and the money, and the power... it was never mine. It was something I inherited. Bruce Wayne was something I inherited. All I ever hoped for was someone who could see through Bruce -- who could see me -- and not be frightened.

Bruce Wayne / Scene 67

Okay, I'm a sucker. You sound so much like someone I used to... Bruce? I know this is silly, but -- you're not married, are you?

Vicki Vale / Scene 30

Mr. Knox, I think we have enough real problems in this city without worrying about ghosts and goblins and Halloween characters.

Harvey Dent / Scene 12

Well, you know me. The more they've got, the less they're worth. This guy must be the most worthless man in America.

Alexander Knox / Scene 15

Excuse me, sir. Commissioner Gordon was compelled to leave -- very unexpectedly. He asked me to convey his regrets.

Alfred Pennyworth / Scene 15

Then there's one thing in the world you don't do very well. And I know what it is. -- Now you'll have to kill me.

Vicki Vale / Scene 25

Please tell him... I'm not trying to make his life difficult. I'd just -- I'd just like to know what's going on.

Vicki Vale / Scene 31
