1984
Teenager Tina Gray is brutally murdered in her sleep by a mysterious figure with a bladed glove, a death witnessed by her boyfriend Rod Lane, who is subsequently arrested as the prime suspect. Tina's friend Nancy Thompson begins experiencing similar terrifying nightmares and discovers that the killer, Freddy Krueger, is a vengeful spirit who preys on teenagers in their dreams, with dream injuries manifesting in reality. Nancy learns from her mother, Marge, that Krueger was a child murderer whom a group of Elm Street parents, including her own, burned alive years ago after he escaped legal justice. As Freddy systematically kills her friends, including Rod and her boyfriend Glen, Nancy devises a plan to pull Krueger out of the dream world and into reality, where he can be defeated.
