In a desolate, post-apocalyptic world, ragdoll 9 awakens, meets other ragdolls, and embarks on a rescue mission for their captured mentor, 2, only to witness 2's death by the awakened Fabrication Machine. The ragdolls learn the Fabrication Machine consumes souls and decide to destroy it, leading to confrontations where several are captured and 6's soul is consumed after a premature celebration of the machine's supposed destruction. 9 discovers the truth about their creation and the Scientist's role as the source of their power through film footage in the Scientist's workshop. After 9 explains the truth, 1 sacrifices himself, allowing 9 to destroy the Fabrication Machine, and the ragdolls release the souls from the talisman, healing the world.
