1492: Conquest of Paradise script

In 1491, Christopher Columbus, a visionary explorer, seeks support for a westward voyage to Asia, facing rejection from the University of Salamanca and the Spanish court until Treasurer Santangel and Queen Isabel finally grant him an audience and fund his expedition. Columbus embarks on his first voyage, leaving his sons and partner Beatrix behind, and after a perilous journey, he discovers a new land, establishing a settlement and leaving behind volunteers before returning to Spain as a hero. Upon his second return to the New World, Columbus finds his settlement destroyed and struggles to maintain order among the Spanish colonists, particularly the brutal nobleman Adrian de Moxica, who exploits and abuses the indigenous population. As governor, Columbus faces escalating conflicts with the indigenous people and a rebellion led by Moxica, which culminates in a violent confrontation and Moxica's death, but a devastating hurricane further cripples the colony and leads to Columbus's removal as Viceroy.

And all I can think of, is to return to these untamed lands...
